1. Consult: what you do
Tell us what prompted the call and share anything you know about the roof: when the house was built, whether the roof is original, any past repairs, and any leaks or storm events. If you have photos of interior stains or of shingles in the yard, have them ready. We look at the roof and give you a straight answer on repair versus replacement.
2. Design: what you do
Review the written scope. It should list the tear-off, decking approach, material, flashing, ventilation and cleanup. Ask about anything unclear. This is also the moment to pull your HOA's roofing guidelines, since some Ashburn associations need an application for any color or material change and treat townhouses more strictly than detached homes.
3. Select: what you do
Choose the shingle line and color, plus any windows. If your association requires review, submit the application with the manufacturer, the exact color name and a photo of the sample. We provide the product details. Do not start work that needs approval until you have it in writing.
4. Build: what you do
Before the crew arrives, move cars out of the driveway, clear patio furniture away from the house, and let neighbors on shared walls know, especially in a townhouse row. During tear-off, if we find damaged decking, we show you and document the change before going further. Exterior work depends on weather, so the schedule can shift with conditions.
5. Complete: what you do
Walk the property with us. Look at the finished roof from the ground, check that the yard and driveway are clean, and raise any closeout items. Keep the written scope and product information with your house records; they are useful if you sell, and your HOA may ask for them.
